Anthropic's life sciences team deployed a fleet of 950 Claude agents to analyze 200,000 reverse transcriptases, resulting in the autonomous discovery of a novel enzyme system called ART (Array-associated Reverse Transcriptases). The AI identifiedspectacular tandem repeat arrays reminiscent of CRISPR, which were subsequently lab-verified by human scientists and published as a technical pre-print.
